Living in San Francisco, it's almost more common to meet founders than employees, such is the startup culture here. After Yammer I felt it was time to take the plunge myself.
Because we're two engineers, we have a lot more possibilities than the average founder. We both have extensive experience in the industry, so initially, rather than raising money, we're planning to bootstrap ourselves by focusing on consulting work. We have some product ideas, but we're really looking for proven markets before we dedicate ourselves to them completely, and the consulting business provides a nice path to profitablility while leaving the flexibility to explore product avenues.
