Evil Green Plant
Here's my first published font, Evil Green Plant.
I've been working on a couple of fonts for the last few years,
but last night after spending about 2 hours playing with a single
glyph (A
- couldn't get the gradient
to look quite right) I got fed up and decided
to see how quickly I could make a font.
Mean & Green
Four or five hours later and most of Evil Green Plant was done. I went for a cartoon/horror style simply because those were the easiest glyphs to draw.
Obviously because the point of the exercise was to knock something out quickly, it's a little rough around the edges. Luckily, rough around the edges is a pretty good look for a comic typeface. There are a lot of changes I'd like to make. In fact ideally I'd like to go over every glyph, add some basic kerning, finish the ascii character set, perhaps add hinting. In fact if I had my way, there'd be so many changes that it would join the big pile of my unfinished projects that will probably never see the light of day.
So here it is, warts and all, use it for whatever you want. If you like it, let me know.
