My website has been a side project for a long time. During university I tinkered on it when work got too boring, and fiddling with its stylesheets was a catharsis to the stresses of my Computer Science degree — the immediacy of development for the web, and the opportunity to combine some of my many interests was a reminder that computers could be fun, and perhaps I wasn't wasting my life in a meaningless degree.

Now I get to develop websites for a living in my new job and my website now takes on an entirely new role. With friends and family dispersed across the continents, and my relocation to San Francisco, my channels of communication have become increasingly digital. In this vein I hope to use my website to converse with the internet, a public repository for my thoughts and creative output.

Whereas before it was mainly a workspace for my digital tinkering, now I hope to focus on creating content — writing about things that interest or affect me. Currently the contents of this website are less than a handful of essays, recycled from university work, or scribblings jotted down in the more tedious of my lectures. Hopefully I will increase the frequency of my output — I hope to average at least one good article per week, and perhaps the practise from this increased quantity will lead to an improvement in quality in my work.

In any case this is the first in what will hopefully be a long sequence of posts. Welcome aboard, and thanks for reading!
